symbol is removed from customer text area after order is placed

custom field is setup as text - where customers are asked to input icloud ID email address, however when they type email and hit place order the @ from email address is removed after and email appears like abcxyz.com instead of abc@xyz.com please fix this bug for custom fields and if option is set to text it should except any including such symbols etc. thanks
